The information below will help you prepare for your first appointment. If you have any questions prior to coming in, please contact this office.

Please arrive five minutes prior to your appointment, and allow sufficient time to locate the office and find parking.

When you arrive for your first appointment, an assessment will be made to determine your general health status. Included are the following:

• Intake form for you to fill out listing your areas of concern, medications, surgeries, accidents,
injuries, family history, etc.

• A stress evaluation

• A customized treatment plan to address your specific needs

Please turn off your cell phone (including the vibrate setting) to allow for a completely relaxing experience.

What to wear:

• Come to your appointment dressed in comfortable clothes.

• The therapist will leave the room while you undress and get on the massage table, under the sheet and blanket. Undress to your level of comfort.

• Once you are on the table, the therapist will knock on the door to see if you are ready and then re-enter the room and check with you to see if you are comfortable before beginning the session.

• Please leave jewelry at home, with the exception of your wedding ring, if you choose not to remove it.

• If your hair is long, having a hair tie available is a good idea.

• Remember, this is your session. You can keep any clothing on that you choose. If you are coming in for work just on your neck, shoulders and back, then you may keep on your pants/socks if you choose.

• When in doubt, ask your therapist if you should wear/bring anything specific.  However, it is always the clients choice, so even if you choose to stay fully clothed, we will work around that as well.

Your massage should be as comfortable and relaxing as possible. If you need to adjust your position, please mention it.

Take a few deep breaths. This will help relax your mind which will in turn, help your body to relax.

It is best to refrain from chatting during your massage in order to allow yourself to completely relax. This is your time – enjoy it.

Following your massage, there will be a brief exit interview to determine how you feel. Suggestions will be offered to help you in your healing process.

All future sessions will include a few minutes for an entrance interview to determine how you are feeling on that particular day, and after the massage, an exit interview to determine how your body is responding and if the session addressed your concerns. Your progress will be kept in your confidential file for tracking.

The benefits of massage are cumulative and have the most effective results over time. The body will respond more quickly depending on the frequency of your visits.

Note: There is a 24 hour cancellation policy.

Any no-shows, or cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your appointment will result in a full charge for your appointment.
